Synopsis

Nate Busko has spent 12 of his 17 years running from the past

Tired of being bounced from foster home to foster home, he now lives in his car, eating corn on the cob and taking a shower during practice.

Alone, he’s haunted by fragments of traumatic memories from his past

By nightfall, he couldn’t be more different from the confident, swaggering image at school.

Enter Stan Deen, a popular high school drama teacher who’s dealing with his own issues

He sees Nate’s latent talent and his need for attention and guidance where no other teacher has, and decides to help him.

But in a surprising turn of events, Nate is arrested in class and taken away in handcuffs

Stan follows Nate to the police station and not only arranges bail, but agrees to take him in, despite the raised eyebrows he receives from his fellow teachers.

Stan is willing to do whatever he can to help his struggling student

But the question is: can you really help someone if you’re not willing to help yourself?
